Overview Top Methodology La petite école offers French language programs, using innovated methods and cutting edge curriculum. The programs will use the highly acclaimed Accelerative-Integrated Methodology (AIM), for which its creator received the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. AIM teaches high frequency vocabulary that is essential for communication, and gestures are used in conjunction with the words to reinforce vocabulary and to maximize students’ speaking. Units are based around plays, which allow students to be actively involved in the learning. This methodology also emphasizes writing skills and students complete written activities that are progressively challenging. Top After-school French Programs La petite école will run three 10-class terms throughout the school year, with fall, winter and spring sessions. These lessons will be held after school. Top Holiday Programs: La petite école des Picassos La petite école will be offering programs during the holiday breaks, for Pre-K to Gr 7. The programs for Pre-K-Gr. 3 will incorporate French along with another subject, such as Les beaux arts (Art), or La cuisine (Cooking). The programs for Gr. 4-7 will focus on grammar, writing, speaking and/or literature. Holiday programs will be typically one week, from Mon-Fri, for 2 hours each class.
